We’re excited to bring you another episode of Shop Talk, this time venturing to the iconic DLX skate shop in San Francisco. Known for its rich skateboarding history, San Francisco remains a pivotal city in skate culture despite recent news painting a less favorable picture. We were eager to connect with the local scene and hear their perspectives.
The DLX Experience with Zach “Ducky” Kovacs
Our usual host, Larry, couldn’t make it, so we teamed up with Zach “Ducky” Kovacs, a Northern California native now working with DLX. Ducky’s deep roots in the area and his familiarity with everyone who stopped by made him the perfect guide for this shop visit. He brought a great perspective, helping us capture the true essence of the SF skate scene.
We explored the shop, chatted with the locals, and dove into what makes the San Francisco skateboarding community unique. From the gear they love to the spots they frequent, we wanted to get the inside scoop. It’s clear that despite any challenges the city may face, the passion for skateboarding remains strong.

We also touched on some of the classic San Francisco skateboarding tropes, though we may have missed a few. If you think there are any specific SF quirks we should have asked about, let us know in the comments! Your feedback is always valuable. We want to make sure we’re capturing the full picture of each location we visit.
