Jenkem Mix Wrapped: A Look Back at Your Top Tunes of the Year

As the year draws to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished. Here at Jenkem, we’re proud to have released 13 incredible mixes this year, and inspired by the Spotify Wrapped craze, we thought we’d bring you a Jenkem Mix Wrapped to recap your listening journey.

Your top played mix was Late Nite Stars, closely followed by The Bunt. It seems like collaborative efforts took the spotlight this year. You also had some heart-stopping moments, courtesy of Zion Effs’ mix, then Rat Ratz, and finally Riley Pavey. These mixes pushed the boundaries and kept you on the edge of your seat, showcasing the diverse sounds within the Jenkem community.

After surviving those sonic adventures, your top questions showed a real curiosity. You were wondering: Who is Xaviersobased? Do kids still like Pantera? And, what does “rizz” even mean? You weren’t alone in your queries. Your peers were also asking: Who is Megan Baltimore? Do taxes actually matter? And, is there really a band called Supertramp? These questions highlight the eclectic mix of artists and topics that captured your attention this year.

Your appreciation for deep cuts was also evident. You loved 454’s inclusion of both Herbie Hancock and Capleton, and Living Proof’s use of Cro-Mags and District 9. You also discovered a fondness for Faye Webster through Elise, explored Japanese rap thanks to Yuto, and expanded your knowledge of bands like Squirrel Bait and Shin Guard after listening to Shane. These moments of discovery highlight the power of these mixes to broaden your musical horizons and introduce you to new sounds and artists.

We’d describe your listening habits as exploratory, and that’s perfect for what we have in store next. Our final mix of the year comes from the legendary PJ Ladd, a name that speaks for itself in the skateboarding world. This mix is unique. It seamlessly transitions between White Sun, a group renowned for its innovative musical renditions of yogic mantras, and classic 90s rap. This juxtaposition reveals the depth and breadth of PJ’s musical taste. It’s a testament to his eclectic nature and provides a fun and intriguing listening experience if you let it play.

If you’re still with us, thanks for exploring your Jenkem Mix Wrapped, and we hope you enjoy PJ Ladd’s wonderfully wild Jenkem Mix.
