Jenkem Mix 124: Marco Hernandez’s Crowd-Pleasing DJ Set

Marco Hernandez, while not a big-time pro skater, has become a familiar face on Jenkem through a variety of features. From a “Neighborhoods” episode in Staten Island, to an Instagram story about shooting a Thrasher cover with T Funk, Marco’s journey in skateboarding is noteworthy. Beyond his close ties with Jenkem, he’s a talented photographer who’s fully committed to his passion for skating. He relocated across the country from Staten Island with just his clothes and photography equipment, and he’s managed to shoot covers, connect with the Baker squad, and carve out a career in the industry.

Interestingly, like many skaters, Marco is also a DJ. He’s known for his monthly vinyl sets at venues such as Cha Cha Lounge. His skill lies in creating a specific atmosphere. Marco’s mixes transport you to a gritty cantina, where a sense of rebellious energy lingers, reminiscent of classic outlaw vibes. This curated experience is what makes his DJ sets unique.
