As dedicated skateboarding enthusiasts, we often notice the smallest details about our favorite skaters, things that might go unnoticed by casual observers. Fans of Andrew Reynolds might recall his “madness,” while Alex Olson’s followers will remember the phrase “No not never… you should too.” When it comes to Ali Boulala, there are many memorable aspects, but one of our personal favorites is his fondness for remote control (RC) toys. This is what inspired our surprise for him: a new RC car.
Ali briefly mentioned his interest in RC toys in his Epicly Later’d episode. Other skaters have also shared stories about Ali stopping by hobby shops before skate sessions to pick up a toy car or plane, which he would then play with all day at the skate spot. We deeply respect someone who can stay so connected with their inner child.
During a visit with Ali in Stockholm, while also checking out his band Ghost Boys in the studio, we decided to try and rekindle that childlike joy by surprising him with a remote control car. We wanted to capture his reaction on camera, hoping to share a bit of his fun-loving spirit with our readers.
