We’re stoked to announce our collaboration with Tortilleria Los Hermanos, a beloved fixture in Bushwick. This partnership celebrates a neighborhood establishment that has nourished us over the years.
Our move to Bushwick, Brooklyn, marked a significant step for Jenkem. This area is a rich tapestry of Black and Latino immigrant culture, with many residents hailing from countries like Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. While acknowledging the influx of US-born transplants, including ourselves, drawn to the neighborhood’s affordability and larger spaces, we’ve always appreciated the area’s unique character.
Right across from our first office on Wyckoff Ave was Los Hermanos, a casual, affordable, and incredibly delicious Mexican eatery. Their tacos, quesadillas, and tortas have been a staple for countless business meetings, staff lunches, and quick to-go orders. They’ve played a part in our journey and growth. Our editor, Alexis Castro, who is of Mexican heritage, wanted to celebrate his connection to both Jenkem and this cherished restaurant, which resonates with his background.
Alexis approached the family that has run Los Hermanos since its inception, and they agreed to collaborate on original merchandise designs. All profits from this collaboration will be shared between Jenkem and the restaurant, supporting both our endeavors.
