To mark a decade of Jenkem, the team has delved deep into their archives, rummaging through old hard drives and even under mattresses, to gather the best moments, the almost-successes, and the outright fails. This journey through their history has culminated in a unique commemorative printed photo gallery. It’s a collection brimming with behind-the-scenes snapshots, blurry memories from late nights, and a variety of random office knick-knacks they’ve accumulated over the past 10 years.
While long-time followers may recognize some of the moments captured within the pages of this zine, those new to the Jenkem world will get a real taste of the culture they’ve cultivated. This is thanks to the loyal readers and the advertisers who were willing to support a brand with a name inspired by an unusual and somewhat mythical substance.
The result is an 8.5” x 11” collectible magazine, featuring 160 pages, with a limited print run of just 500 copies. These will be exclusively available at select skate shops globally. There are no direct sales through the website, so if you want to get your hands on a copy, you need to contact your local skate shop to make sure they’re stocking it. Once they are sold out, there won’t be any more.
The production costs were significantly impacted by inflation, but thankfully, Vans stepped in to help with some of the printing expenses, bringing the project to fruition. Jenkem is thankful to Vans, and everyone who has supported them throughout the years, by watching their videos, saying hello in the street, inviting them to parties, buying their merchandise, caring about the content, or taking a chance on them.
For ten years, Jenkem has focused on sharing the stories of others, covering events and companies. This commemorative zine marks a chance for them to share their own story.
Available at Skate Shops Worldwide Starting July 15th
